How lovely that you were visited by a bluebird!Perhaps there's not enough light on the bird in my photo, above, to show that it is an Eastern Bluebird.
They're beginning to migrate North, to us.
We have yet to see one here; I'm hoping the suet will attract them as well as the woodpeckers.

We were visited by the ladies cardinal and woodpecker today.

She really is a beautiful bird. I think that’s the prettiest female cardinal I’ve ever seen.We were visited by the ladies cardinal and woodpecker today.
That’s the male woodpecker! You can see that red spot at the back of his head. Nice videos.
Most birds seem to like sunflower seeds. Bluebirds mainly eat mealworms and insects. They will eat sunflower seeds as long as they are shelled.They like our seeds, in the dish, (the bluebirds)
so i think they'll like yours too.

That's right. We do give them the dried mealy worms, but don't have them out there yet.

You REALLY DO love your birds. That’s wonderful. I’m surprised that bluebirds are around during the winter. I thought they migrated south. Maybe some birds can’t do the flight. Birds sure are interesting aren’t they?

She had a perfect ‘what the heck just happened ‘ look on her face. I didn’t think birds could even show different expressions but I was sure wrong. I watched that video about 5 or 6 times. lol ! Too funny.

Maybe birds know more about weather than we do. When do they sell mealworms? Are the bluebirds the only ones that eat mealworms?

There are some other birds that like the dried meal worms, too. The others that like insects such as the nuthatches.
