Political scammers may be active

I'm in the USA. For the past few months I have received a very large amount of texts from both political parties, even for candidates that I cannot vote for.

I immediately block all numbers. It's been like 50 times.

But I wonder if some or most of these are just fake companies collecting free money.

You are referring to your Smart Phone right? I don't ever receive any texts from any political org.? I wonder what the difference is. My email is fine too.?

I receive tons of political mail both as texts and email. They always end with a request for a donation.

My landline has been getting a lot more calls since the election season began. There's individual names and numbers but they don't leave a message and they don't call back. The calls are from all over the U.S. mainland. There were three texts on my cellphone from Florida. This guy named Lucas asked if l still wanted to take that class l had reported interest in. I did no such thing. The class was jujitsu on the beach. They got the wrong woman. I never did answer any of those texts. I deleted them and blocked the phone numbers.

Only those on my contact list (cell phone) can have their phone calls get through. Mostly never any unknown ones. The land line is no big deal l hardly hear it ring. l check for calls and messages later.

I get a few based on my party affiliation and it builds as we get closer to the election.

Most of them are asking how I will vote or to participate in some sort of survey.

I delete them all.

I’m reluctant to restrict my calls/texts to my contact list for fear that I may miss something important.

I just don’t answer calls I don’t recognize and wait to review the messages.

It would be interesting to know if any of the calls, direct mail, or television advertising has any impact on how people choose to vote.

IMO it’s all a waste and if one party dials it back the other will follow.

I currently have my cell set up to not let call or text through unless they are on my Contact list. I'll relax the setting a little after the election. Perhaps your cell has max call screening settings also ? Just a guess.
There might be a text blocker on the phone also, but there are businesses whom are not on my contacts list for whom I don't want to block.

People seem to have lost their ability to discern what's truly good for the country. It starts with the candidates, not with scams.

Been getting a lot of scam texts as well. Now getting code texts.

Never give these people the seemingly smallest of 'harmless' information. Alot of times they want to confirm your phone number in valid then they go to the next level taking what information one might give them and connect it to more information from elsewhere.

May be active? They are pouring misleading and out right false information over the airwaves, though the internet, and into my mailbox on a daily basis. Both sides are doing it including official organizations of various candidates. It’s horrible.

I just look at who has been "crossing the aisle" to endorse which candidate.

It speaks volumes about what each represents.
