I'm out of the loop on what the topic is - I assume there are a lot of drones flying about. Near Christmas. When people get gifts.

At the same time, Social Media means people can more easily organize. Where do I think they're coming from? I'd guess a lot of different houses.

Large unidentified drones flying over parts of New Jersey -- Morris and Somerset counties. Described as large and operating for extended periods. In addition, large drones were reported over New York, Staten Island, and Howland Hook Marine Terminal Container Port. Some hovering steadily in challenging wind conditions.

In Pennsylvania they were flying around “transportation corridors”, power lines and reservoirs. Flying at night with lights off, and being operated for long periods. It's also been reported that “swarms” have been flying over military installations in the US. Langley Airforce Base for example. I think these were reported as smaller drones.

A couple of days ago it was reported that drones were flying over American bases in Germany, Ramstein Air Base. Also seen flying above the German arms manufacturer, Rheinmetall.

A couple of weeks ago it was reported that drones on two occasions were over RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk, England. RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire and RAF Feltwell in Norfolk.

Thanks for that. Pesky drones. They are relatively cheap, and there no real way to control them. Their use is poorly regulated, so you can expect this type of nonsense, I guess. With drones being used extensively in the war in Ukraine to destroy tanks and other armored vehicles, I think it's pretty safe to assume they represent a worrying trend.

I got nuthin’.

Maybe they’ve always been there and people are just now noticing them.

Then with the media’s help the topic has been whipped into a frenzy.

The thing that bothers me is the lack of an explanation.

How hard can it be to follow a drone home? 🤔

I think these are mostly flying at night, largely under the cover of darkness. There is tech out there that create "no-fly" zones for drones, but it's not widely deployed and is used mostly at airports and military bases. I assume it's horribly expensive. Even if they followed the drones home, what laws are being broken?

If the activity is routine or innocent a simple explanation and understanding would go a long way towards calming people’s concerns.

Well, in that case, I might as well clue you in. It's aliens from another world and they're drawing up their battle plans. Glad I could help. :D

Word on the street is that it's a clandestine department of Santa's Tracking and Intelligence Network for Seasonal Elf Logistics. T.I.N.S.E.L. for short. It's a sub division of the "Naughty or Nice" department. They are sending out "naughty or nice" surveillance drones. Even Santa needs to keep up with modern times!
