Pomegranate blossoms this morning

@RadishRose Those are Kaweco Sports. They're not really new. They come in aluminum, brass, plastic and steel. There are Chinese rip offs that look identical, but Jetpens would have the real thing. I don't have one but a lot of people like them. They are made in Germany. If you are considering one, you might want to look at some reviews. It's a very short pen and you probably would want to post the cap on the back when using it. It doesn't come with a converter (the thing that makes it refillable) so you would have to use ink cartridges unless you bought one. And, the cartridges are small and don't hold a lot of ink. Do some research.

Thanks Don. You're all the research I need. :)

Thanks for the comments.

@PeppermintPatty I have hummingbirds, but I've never seen them on the pomegranate blossoms. The bees love them.
That’s strange. They are the perfect shape and colour. Maybe they don’t product the type of nectar required by them. Interesting.
What are the hummingbirds attracted to at your house? Do you have hummingbird feeders ?

I've had a feeder on the patio for years and I always have hummingbirds around. It may be that they do feed on the pomegranate and I just never noticed. I'll have to watch closer.

Do they finish the sugar water? Where we used to live, the hummingbird feeder got too hot for the hummingbirds so they never really used them. The ones here we have to fill up once a day to once every 2 days depending on how many birds we have and how many the feeders we have up.

How much fruit do you get ?
And do you freeze the seeds or make jam, preserves or juice?

In the winter when they're breeding I have to fill the feeder every day or two with a cup of sugar water. After that it falls way off and I go to 3/4 cup that lasts several days. I used to have two feeders but I cut it back to one. There are others around the neighborhood so they won't go hungry.

The amount of fruit varies from year to year. Last year I got hardly any. The squirrels get a lot of it. I only eat a couple and give the rest away.
