Poor Boy Suffers from AFFLUENZA...He Can Get Away With Murder

Leno talked about that tonight and said apparently the Judge suffers from 'moronitis'. Unbelievable....what the hell is happening to our 'Justice' system, as well as the rest of society??? Sick.

A human being might as well look for diamond tiaras in the gutter as for rewards and punishments that are fair.

I call our legal system, The Injustice System.

This doesn't surprise me at all, our state, Washington is very easy on drunk drivers who kill people. It is just sickening. I didn't know Texas is just as bad. I thought they had more balls in Texas. But of course if this had been the child of poor folks, there would no doubt have been a very different out come.

I believe in Karma... they'll get theirs.
those that are rich and ignorant may think they can buy their way through life, but karma will win out in the end.

Having spent many years studying karma and other metaphysical principles I would love to agree with you, BM.

Unfortunately, I cannot.

I've seen too many evil people live long, healthy lives and die happy. I've seen too much wrong-doing perpetrated upon innocents and never avenged. I've seen money buy people out of too many situations where they should have been punished.

Maybe I should just stop looking ... :(

I saw this on the news too and thought it was a joke at first. I just don't get it! Money should have no power when it comes when it comes to crime. They were able to hire a good lawyer and because of that, the defense wasn't questioned. I feel bad for the family of the victims.

I like to think about "just deserts" myself too.

Perhaps it is just one case where I allow myself a foray into fantasy land, but I do hope there is some comeuppance for all parties involved in this travesty of justice.

I am not an eternal optimist by any means, but I also try not to be the eternal pessimist either, otherwise I'd just probably give up all together.

We see bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people, there is no rhyme or reason.

Exactly - so why suppose that there's a cosmic court of law where polished-brass scales of justice towering 1,000 meters high weigh out every single action among the billions of critters on this world?

Karma is nothing more than fantasy and probability: fantasy in the sense that it gives solace to those transgressed against, and probability in that the more you do evil the more likely that evil will be visited upon you.

I won't get into the mechanics of traditional karmic thought versus Western interpretation - it's too depressing. :distress:

I agree with Phil, I love to use the expression what goes around, comes around...or you get what you give. Very easy as an 'I told you so' when someone who just did something screwed up gets some payback. But, I've seen a lot of creeps that done people dirty have the best of luck, with everything going their way. A hard core karma believer, would say, 'well he'll get what's coming to him in hell someday'...that's another thread, ain't gonna go there now.

I still believe in karma to a degree, but won't bet my life on it. ;)

OH..
But of course if this had been the child of poor folks, there would no doubt have been a very different out come
.
Bingo!

Boo's Mom..
What goes around, comes around .. I do believe in pay back.
I wish this were true..Unfortunately, I have to agree with Phil and SB. I have seldom seen people get theirs for injustices they have done.

In fact, it seems that these type of people are teflon coated in many cases and keep dishing out, but never answering for it in meaningful terms, wherein the punishment fits the crime.
