Poor Health May Be Driving a Need to Move

STUNNER!

A friend suggested I let AI help me with this. "List your criteria and allow AI to narrow your search."

So I asked Perplexity (what I thought was) a daunting question [but this system will not allow me to post all my criteria....]

In about 3 seconds(!) Perplexity replied with an extensive list ... and explained how and why it (Perplexity) pointed me at these locations. Wow!!!

This is a *tiny* bit of what AI answered, "I don’t have live access to all the fine‑grained climate and facility databases right now, so I’ll suggest regions and city types that closely match your constraints and where you can then drill down on specific communities and care centers.

Strong Regional Matches
1. Greenville / Spartanburg, SC (Piedmont belt)"

If you have the funds to live out your lives in the Greenville/Spartanburg area, then it would be something worth researching.

The cost of living there versus living anywhere in Tennessee is somewhat higher. To reiterate, if you have the funds, I don’t think it’s any more than a few percent, but that could add up if funds are tight.

So you need to do your personal due diligence and not listen to everything AI says. Suggestions by AI are one thing but living by them is something else altogether.😇

That is a nice area!

You folks are SUPER! Thanks for all your input.

Using AI, City-Data.Com, and lot's of mapping websites ... then consulting the Pickleheads app, to be sure there are (many) nearby pickleball courts ... this is the list of towns I'm looking at. I'm open to suggestions, and if any of you have personal experience with these places, please inform.

Fort Mill, SC
Greer, SC
Piedmont, SC
Travelers Rest, SC
Maryville, TN
Fellowship, FL
Lake Butler, FL
Crestview, FL

Many realtors post youtube videos "touring" regions in which they sell houses. (Some realtors are astoundingly BAD at doing these vids; those vids are actually amusing.)

But, adding those videos to my other resources, Florida is OUT. So is the Low Country of SC. I've narrowed my search:
Maryville, TN
Piedmont, SC
Travelers Rest, SC
Fort Mill, SC

Yeah, they're going to paint the rosiest picture possible. And many are using AI to improve the picture.

One important thing to us when we moved, medical care. Not just the general care but more advanced medical care. Turns out we needed it and are glad we landed where we did.

I would suggest Fannin Co, GA but I don't know anymore if their medical care has advanced or if it's necessary to drive south to find more advanced care.

You're also compelled now to let us follow your journey.

Since my wife's health is driving this adventure, this IS a factor I'm keeping my eye on....

Hmm. As I grew up in Alabama (Roll Tide!!!) Georgia is not on my radar.

Okay. Thanks!

Hope you find what you’re looking for.
We are at 650’ above sea level where we live in Illinois.
Most of the time we have pretty decent weather around here.
