The other day I set out to do some shopping and I stopped at Target. Outside, there were no carts. Inside neither.
I asked the door security man to call for more shopping carts. He pointed toward the parking lot. I asked him if he expected an old man to roam around the parking lot looking for a cart. He nodded his head to say, "Yes".
I told him to call for mgmt. But he just stood there.

I walked over to a clerk and asked him to call mgmt because there were no carts.
An elderly lady must have overheard me because she offered her cart that she was finished with.

Target actually expects customer to go find their own carts ???? Good grief, what is this world coming to ?

I've never thought to complain about that. I've been getting my own carts for over half a century.

Instead of being angry to schlep for a cart, why couldn't you just ask for help? I find more helpful people than not. Took more energy to complain and be angry IMO

I doubt that's standard Target policy. Sheesh, Walmart does better than that, and they're supposedly the bottom of barrel.

I dunno. Maybe Target was shorthanded that day, and the security guy wasn't supposed to leave the door. If something happened and where was the security guy-getting shopping carts? Most retailers do bend over backwards to keep customers happy????????

Over here most supermarkets do like us to return our carts (we call them trolleys, by the way) to a designated area but they do employ people to collect them from customers who are too lazy to do so.
