Poor squirrel got injured,

saw it come for water at back porch today...had a big gash and missing fur right
at it's shoulder top, front leg....hope he can survive in this extreme cold.

I hope so. Sometimes hurt animals will go off somewhere and hide to be safe while they heal. I had a cat that did.

Aw, poor thing. I wonder what happened to him. He was able to come for water, so maybe he'll be alright. Keep an eye out for him. That's about all you can do.

Well, my suspicious mind has worked out a scenario as to how
this squirrel was injured...I believe that the yellow stray cat I see
has done the deed, cause almost nightly I see it go up a tree that I know has squirrel nests in it...this is same cat that visits
me on some evenings....

Uh oh. It's been over a month since you first posted about the injured squirrel. Have you seen him again?

Nope have not caught sight of him, but that is not surprising
given how many of them are around.....hope it is okay....
