They turned out all right. One of my very favorite songs, Jr. High, I think. They lived happily ever after. They moved from Brooklyn to Jersey. He became a used car salesman, and now owns a fleet of dealerships. She became a PTA mom. He will be retiring soon; they are considering Florida or Arizona. Their kids grew up happy, healthy, and loved. They are grandparents. They are members of SeniorForums. We know them. They are US.

The bond between them grew stronger. Society's judgment of them together forcing them into a deeper emotional connection. Her ability to see things in people that others were unable to see developed further. She saw their potential, their abilities to grow based on their own perspectives.

They developed a patience for each other, each knowing that the other had much more to offer them, and the world as a whole. Each became excited in the thought of supporting each other as they moved through life.

Yet they encountered increasing scrutiny from their family and friends. This in part caused them to turn away from their family and friends, but not completely. In doing this they found they had more time to develop a sense of each other as individuals and as a couple. Their perspective on themselves and the world around them developed further. They saw further complexities in themselves and of each other that had previously gone unnoticed. They worked with them and around them where necessary.

His rebellious nature turned into a creative confidence, with pursuits such as music, art, and activism encouraged by his partner. Their love for each other and the way they handled judgment from others inspired their friends -- it took longer for their family to come around to the idea.

His continually developing artistic flair led him to an offshoot of his music. He started writing songs. One song he wrote (co-written by his now wife) was handed to Phil Specter, later titled "He's a Rebel". The rest is history.

My BFF, a professional pianist, toured with and played for The Crystals when they were at their peak. Re your question...who knows, maybe as the Rebel matured, he changed. But if not, she may have spent a lot of precious time visiting him in jail.
