She told people that she had won the lottery. Either she's a very kind soul or figured on getting the publicity when her stunt was found out. Comments? (I was born cynical)

Only it wasn't really anonymous, or we wouldn't know it was her, now would we? It's a nice gesture, and might have been even more meaningful if she'd picked the Walmart someplace where the average income is a bit less than in Palm Springs. (I looked it up. $48,000.) Still, a nice thing for those folks.

I try to be cynical, but it's hard to keep up!
