Pope Francis has died

first of all we have to define ""sin" - there are many views; opinions and discussions that could go on for ever - but if you are going to wave around the word "sin" be sure you can defend it well or let go when it gets too hot??

Sorry, but the Catholic Church continues to lose membership. Pope Francis was a great leader in that he eschewed wealth and was a champion for the common man. However, his support for the gay community was weak at best. He even used a vulgar term about gay men in the Priesthood.

Maybe I'm being overly sensitive, but aside from my lifestyle it still doesn't address how the Catholic church remedies the fact that it is bleeding members.

I hadn't heard about the "vulgar term", before, but I wonder if it had to do with his disgust for pedophile priests, of which there were many who got away with it. One thing that turned me off to the Catholic church decades ago was when I heard a story about a young, unwed pregnant girl who was shunned by the church. IMO, she should have been helped in that situation. Don't have time to check out your links now. It's time for a snack and I'm signing off.
