Pope Francis

That Guy

I'm neither Catholic nor a fan of organized religion. But was reading about the new guy and was pleased to stumble across this: . . . addressing those assembled at his first official dinner as pope, he deadpanned, "May God forgive you for what you've done." Gotta love him!

I think he may change the Vatican......a good thing.....but not core Catholic beliefs.....in my opinion, not a good thing.

He seems to be more in touch with his 'flock' than the previous pope.

Better PR.

Sorry but as in all heirarchal systems the top job goes to the top 'dog.' I'm not naive enough to accept that those snarling pack of cardinals promote others because they consider them more worthy, just more likely to be able to sell the product and protect their own careers from above.

It's politics folks. It's about charisma, smoke and mirrors, and no one's ever as good as the marketing presents them.
When it comes to the crunch he will toe the line or go the way of his predecessor John or Paul, can't remember, but being found dead in bed after a few weeks of professing an ambition to change the rules is always an attention focusing point to consider when promisng to change the direction of a behemoth like the Catholic Church. Don't hold your hopes too high.

I was raised Catholic, although no longer practice, or am a fan of any organized religion either That Guy. Great he has a sense of humor and lightheartedness about him, and I agree with Fern, he's more in touch with the people than previous popes. He's different, and change is good, nothing bad to say about the guy.
