Post a Pic in Your 20's...Your Prime! :)

I got my hard stripe (E-5) in a little over 2 years. (was 21 years old). Sadly, it came due to attrition.
That IS very sad.
E-5 took me just a bit over 2 years, too, but thankfully not due to attrition!
A month after I was promoted to E-5, as a reservist medic at Luke AFB, I transferred to AFROTC at Northern AZ University.
We had five of eight of our Dec 1984 class prior enlisted of various AFSCs.

I got in the military a bit later than most: 25/26, enlisted, I was the oldest female in my basic training flight.
I was commissioned in DEC 1984 when I was 29 years old.

Keeping the same weight is impressive! Intentional I assume?
Nice looking hubby!

The younger son is a police officer for the last 8 years. The older son, who has his hand on the baby stroller sent me that photo without explaining just WHOS baby that was! He replied to me: "No...not mine...Js" I nearly had a stroke, son not married.

:) You wouldn't be smiling if you saw me today in half dress. Yes, the same half, I'm not a pervert. I just mean that I've gained a few pounds since I was 20.
Understand, Inept. Thank you for the compliment. I was a model for a while, before I had my daughter at 21. I modeled wedding gowns, runway model. Modeling is an easily learned skill but was boring. I knew way back then, that looks don't last forever and I had a voracious appetite for a secure future and to never be poor poor again with a child to support.

I was happy because I had been supporting her for 6 long years, alone, divorced her father when she was only 2ish; $146.00 child support and college part time plus working for six years, plus AF Reserves, or Air Guard. There were times I would not eat because I didn't have money enough for both of us to eat, and we lived where I was cutting wood to feed a wood stove in Flagstaff, AZ, where I was finishing up college, so I could get commissioned and go on active duty to be able to support her better - not struggle through the rest of our lives.

I gotta say: I weigh exactly what I weighed in high school; but I have to watch my weight always, and it is very difficult to keep off the pounds as I get less and less active! As we age, we must eat less and less to counter less and less activity. It is so HARD to not just say: "To heck with it, I am old and am going to eat whatever I damn well please!!". Am fortunate to enjoy activities, can't sit around watching TV and on this computer all day like I do some days. Am looking for a new activity other than weight training and my trainer bike. Am considering taking up with some bicycle club; Tucson has 100 miles or more of just bike trails! Just can't do outside biking from April 15 to Oct 15 - the heat.

The first one is me at age 23 as a medic on the Internal Medicine Ward at Cam Rahn Bay.

The second one is me also age 23 in our Hooch at Cam Rahn Bay. Damn. I think I was weighing about 180 or 185 then. Wish I could get back to that weight.
Cam Rahn Bay? Are you joking with me?! 1966-1967 but with a couple of months supporting the expeditionary force of the 4th. Infantry Division up at Vung Ro/Phú Hiệp. I'll bet you and I pounded some of the same sand and walked over the same PcP.

My DH is a retired Marine; got in just as Vietnam was closing up.

Am glad those of you guys who served in Vietnam made it home safe and am always so sad to remember how some of the public treated our returning vets. Respect for those wounded in body heart or soul; for those who perished.

I always blame my girth on hereditary factors. Dad had a stomach and so do I. Other than that I'm not "fat". I bought an E-bike not long ago and that did wonders but winter is now upon us and my enthusiasm for getting out has dampened.
