I saw Chuck Berry in concert when he was 62. He appeared with Bo Diddley, Bobby Rydell, The Coasters, The Shirelles, & Ricky Nelson. I love Chuck's music, but never considered him the King of Rock and Roll or anyone else. Bill Haley was singing rock and roll before it was called rock and roll. DJ Allen Freed started calling his music, "that rock and roll music", since the words rock and roll were in some of his early recordings. So Bill Haley is referred to as The Father of Rock and Roll by some. I still call him that.
