Post Covid Stores With No Change Rooms

Really irks me.

They know you can't try on the article of clothing...there are no change rooms...so if it doesn't fit right when you try it on at home...the company knows you will come back for a return visit and invariably spend more money in their store. Total scam and inconvenience in my opinion.

Thrift stores around here still have the ’no change rooms’ philosophy. Honestly, some of them weren’t the most sanitary so I’m not too stressed. As long as I can return it, I’ll deal with it.

I never try on clothing. I just make sure they have a good return policy where I don’t have to pay to return things.
I have found stores whose brands seem to fit me well and I only buy from that store so that I usually don’t have to return anything or even go to the store. I buy online.

Perhaps.

But let me be clear, trying on clothes is the tenth circle of hell. I'd rather pluck out my eyebrows, one by one. I'd rather buy a new car and drive it into a wall. I'd rather stub my toe and have a fingernail pulled off with rusty pliers.

Trying on clothes is like plunging a dagger into your brain. And if you're partner is with you, it's even worse.

:devilish:

I have a hard time with shoes fitting right, so I need to try them on before buying. If I wear them a few times and they still feel comfortable, I sometimes go back to that same store and buy another pair just like them to have on hand as an extra pair.

I have a shoe fitting this week at the VA. I can only wear special shoes now.

I’ll wear lightweight clothes to a store with no change room. I’ve seen some people come quite scantily glad for this reason. One woman was with her spouse. She was trying on clothes over a spanx-like pantihose. Ok, thought that was daring, then I realized those are what she wore there. It wasn’t a great sight.
