Do you have a favorite "Post of the Day"? Or any day you please.
The following quote by Paco Dennis is, for me, The Post of the Day (so far):
From the thread, "Do you claim a fish as your ancestor?"

I think that the "intelligence" man has assigned to a creator is a reflection of our own intelligence. I don't think it is how the universe "IS". That "is"ness is beyond any manmade conception of intelligence. To accept this as being true means that both our most profound, enlightened, advanced scientific understanding, is mere drivel to what "it" really "IS". So why waste our precious life, each moment with useless speculation, when we could be using our time, for useless activity. :) --Paco Dennis

From the thread: National debt tops 31 Trillion for the first time
post #91 by ohioboy

(Aunt Bea said: It took a long time to create this massive debt and it will take a long time to dig our way out by simply raising taxes and cutting spending.)

We are the laughing stock of the world. We have soldiers stationed around the world instead of protecting the U.S. The defense budget is almost a Trillion dollars a year now. Absolutely pathetic. The SC has ruled a citizen can not challenge an expenditure of Congress, so they answer to no one. --ohioboy

(Aunt Bea said: The sad part is that most of the work and sacrifice will be left to future generations that received no benefit had no hand in creating the situation.)

We can never escape this turmoil, we are far beyond the point of hope, now paying almost a Trillion dollars a year just for an INTEREST payment. Congress has destroyed this Country, yet their Pensions are outrageous. I am so glad I am not growing up now, the human depression would kill me. Today's children, as you do rightfully point out, are doomed.😭 --ohioboy

The following is by OneEyedDiva from the thread "Amazon Credit Card?! A Rant":

(Timewise 60+ said: Want to try something really different! Pay off all of your debt and burn your credit cards. Over the long run you will be amazed how much money you have... Prior to retirement this is a necessity! But it is wealth building any time...)

OneEyedDiva said:
I use the completely opposite tactic. I pay for everything feasible, including groceries, with my reward cards. The only exclusions are my housing (HOA fees), utilities and Verizon internet, because they charge fees to do so. I have several cards (garnered them because of their $150 - $250 bonus offers); some I use more often than others. Some only when they offer 5% in rotating quarterly categories that benefit me. I pay each card in full every single month. Over the past 10 years, I've gotten at least $10,000 in cashback rewards. My checking account would not have paid me to write checks for those purchases. And I certainly wouldn't have gotten an extra $10,000 by paying cash. Consider I've been doing this for longer than 10 years.

Now granted, I know everybody can't use my method because they have no self control when they get a credit card in their hand(s). But for those of us who handle credit well, it's a way to add to wealth plus there are other benefits to having an excellent FICO score.

From the thread REFLECTIONS OF MY LIFE Post #5893 by Blessed

... it may be true that a regular dentist may not be able to fix your teeth due to your heart failure. You need a primary doctor that will advocate for your health, having a dental problems can only increase illness in the rest of your body. The primary doctor needs to help you find an oral surgeon that can take you into the hospital for any dental surgery and care you require. It could be possible that it maybe required to remove all your teeth and go to dentures if required in your health position but that needs to be reviewed by doctors and dental surgeons.

Yes, it can be the case that any surgery may not be possible but I would refuse to accept they can't fix your teeth. I have a disease called AVN or bone death basically. It is considered rare that blood does not flow to your bones properly and then bone starts to die and collapse. Many more people than I thought have this condition due to cancer and steroid conditions. Still, doctors can administer epidural blocks to prevent pain or putting a patient under anesthesia to preform complete joint replacements. I was lucky,, could go under anesthesia for a hip replacement.

My point being is not every dentist, not every doctor knows everything. You need and require a specialist in your heart condition to refer you to a facility and doctor than can address the problem without putting your heart in danger. I do not know a lot about your state. This may require you to travel to a major teaching/research hospital that is nearest to your location.

The first step is your PCP, if they are good, they can give you possible resources and then send your records to the appropriate doctor and facility for review. As far as I know, Medicare should cover the procedure.

If you do not get the results or referrals you need to please contact the National Institute for Health for assistance They are aware of every new option available in the country. I say this because I have been through it when my husband had a rare cancer. They are a leading resource in new and available procedures. It might be a good idea to go ahead and get all your medical records and tests to have on hand to forward to any doctor that can help, just helps speed up the process.

Feel free to contact me by PM if you need help to contact the NIH. I found all this out myself through research. By the time the oncologist said anything, I pulled out all the paperwork for the required care and my husband about fell on the floor. Don't give up because one doctor says No.

From the thread I'M OLD AND HUNGRY FOR LIFE, Post #65, by Papa Tiger:

If you are a feel-tired - rest, tis better to die in ones own sleep
than die in a Hospital ET department hooked up to tubes
to where. Thas my thought. U will get health and strength
thru resting. Work hard at life when you arise. Thas my belief.
Smack em b-tards hard when fresh of your days life here!

Someone once sad Grandma was a physical bitch in her 70's who made Lye in her pot on a fire out there!

It's hard to understand that way of life unless you saw it. I Did. Only thing they cared about was the work and doing it.
So many whiny Fx's out there who have no clue of real survival of the fittest and what it means.

Hard life back in the day. But harder in a physical sense. Now days so many things to consider and deal with. Insurance, pills, doctors, dentists, taxes bills, phones, traffic and your vehicle. Crime. disease. Kids and grand kids. I remember my grandmother hanging clothes on the line in her 80s. She wrote us letters often. I wish I had written back more. She cooked for us often, My grandfather died in 74 and she lived another 20 yrs or so. Lost two children too. One to childhood disease and another killed in home invasion. Remarkable woman. I loved her very much. Always made me breakfast when I was a boy visiting. The best kind with bacon and pancakes.

"Frank, I am 92, was wheelchair bound. My back is such a mess, it is truly remarkable that I am walking fast with a nice rollator walker. I will not got into detail as to my problems, as you have them as well. At any rate, I said, if I can get rid of this wheelchair, I have won the battle. Oh, yes, I dragged my leg a bit, etc. and my balance leaves much to be desired, but if I can do it, so can you.

Your gramps gave you good genes. Get a PT program if you cannot get there and begin working with it. Look into Silver Sneakers. Programs for all. Most of all, I am happy to see you back and in fairly good humor. That's part of the battle won. I will be your #2 cheerleader since I know Michelle is #1. hugs."

Thank you, Lewkat

Could be that no matter how sure we are of having finally succeeded, through research, what IS, in time through more advanced research will be found that IS isn't. Which inspires more research to find out why IS turned out to be ISn't.

I sort of believe in a huge vast unending / endless opportunity for creation.
l believe Creation is the command chain that is the energy of forever. I really
don't give a dang what flavor it comes in. You hear of Dark energy, Dark Matter
well thas what sorta fuels Creationism. an unimaginable vastness, of as yet
hasn't become, space time but is commanded to become.

A few smart people always try to control something with understanding.
The only thing got to understand, its forever Ladies.

A thousand-year Kingdom is like a really bad infected Fungus toenail.
