Post-Surgery: I am alive and in a fair amount of pain

Surgeon says it went well. No signs of infection thus far (It's been a few days since surgery). Stayed in hospital two days. Could have stayed longer if I wanted to but my bed is more comfortable than the hospital bed.

I think I should have been an engineer of design. All I could think of the last day I was in hospital was how I want to re-design everything - the bed, the darn desk/tray, I want a remote for the window shade, have a lift hanging over the bed for those who need it, etc. When the pain breaks thru it's a 10.

I try to accomplish one major goal each day just to make myself feel better. Yesterday, it was a shower and washing my hair. Today, I did the dishes. One of my kids assembled a shower chair for me my first day back and I highly recommend a shower chair post-surgery. I'm loopy from pain meds. It's much safer to sit.

The pain is just a matter of time. Incisions have to heal.

Thank you. IDK about brave. It was a surgery that had to be done or the problem it corrected would only get worse. No good reason to delay it other than fitting it into the surgeon's very full schedule.

Hope you’re better soon, Vintage! I just got a shower stool myself; I don’t know if I’ll be having surgery or not but in the meantime at least I can take a shower.
