I've dealt with OA beginning at 18 and dealt with it, managed it for decades and then in 2010 because of groin pain (spurs) I did a hip replacement surgery, and 8 yrs later I deal with more arthritis than ever.

A Prolo MD talks about this every time I hear him on his weekly program and MD's on another board who are very western medicine, say not, true.

There are many sites about post arthritic trauma from surgery, accidents, falls, etc etc etc

So if you are wondering why more arthritis, this is a big one. I did a hip replacement for less pain and here I am more than ever.

One big reason why I cannot bring myself to knee replacement surgery...more Arthritis???

Just talking to my neighbor who did a 2nd hip a couple yrs ago believes the carpel tunnel issue is worse since this 2nd major surgery.

More Trauma/Injury to the wonderful body.

Interesting. In 2008, my little dog had to have surgery on his back knees. The veterinary surgeon told me that going into those joints would cause my dog to have arthritis in later years.

ETA--also, gout can be triggered by trauma or surgery. In 2012 I had my gallbladder removed, and 3 weeks later developed gout in my foot. I had never had gout before (and never want to have it again.) Gout is a form of arthritis.

I had both hips replaced in 2013. I have absolutely no pain in the hip joints, no problems at all, and the surgery literally gave me my life back. I could not walk unaided before the surgery and now I can do pretty much whatever I want (except doc says no bungee jumping or jumping out of airplanes).

So you are an exception to arthritis and major surgery trauma...great for you. I walked unaided before surgery and now use a walker after one replacement..with shorter leg, nerve damage, IT band damage, ankle and foot OA, what else can I say.

So you have no arthritis in other parts of your body and I'm not talking just about hip areas...no arthritis?
