What a cutie pie! I had a very similar-looking dress with matching jacket in a deep scarlet color in the early 50's too. I think it was velvet.

Good eye dobielvr. It does look like a figure of some sort. We lived on a hillside with woods and pasture land across the road. No doubt a tall shrub or small tree. Although strange things use to happen in my room at night.
