Maybe tossing out names here will ring a bell with some.

Most of us have been on forums for many years and met many who offered a word of encouragement. I will name two who I knew wayyyyy back in 2001 when I was a forum youngster.

Anyone remember "One of You" aka Laura? Such a classy lady that led by example. She had an uncanny knack of sensing trouble and with a few words could still the troubled waters. I thought about her today when I replied to the sewing thread here on this forum. I had admitted to feeling foolish with a sewing mistake I made and Laura jumped in and told about the time she had sewn her scissors inside her coat project.

I think a lot about "Dwezel" lately too every time I get the urge to move. I had been in my home for many years and undecided. Dwezel said that if I was thinking of moving then it is time to move, emphasis on the italics. I moved. I was sad when she passed away.

Kay Rose aka Elkie or Elkourie.....will never forget her humour. That gal could turn a bad day into a good one just reading her nonsensical but witty posts.

It wasn't this site, but I used to subscribe to a e-newsletter for seniors, can't remember the name of the newsletter but the gal who put it out was Ronni Bennett; it was a great newsletter, but unfortunately she died of cancer.

TreeGuy - his hobby was vegan cooking.
AZJim - such a sweet man
Trade - very funny with just enough snark to keep things interesting
ASP3 - a really smart guy who wrote well thought out posts and recommended great books and articles

C'est Moi & tree guy still post on the other forum... fortunately still with us in life..

The ones I remember and miss who are no longer with us in life are Ina.. AZjim, Drifter of course whose just left us this week....

Those who stopped posting..TerryPage ( used to love his Russian tales and pictures)... ASP3 who wasn't with us long, but a nice man... 911, another good decent human being.. C'est Moi, but I know she's happier elsewhere... and several others whose names will come back to me later at some point..

@Lee, I don't remember either of those 2 ladies you mentioned...

Other than the names mentioned above, I remember a few others ..

like Jillaroo and Diwundrin, both from Australia
and others like:

Old Hipster
OzarkGal
TICA
TWHRider
Toomuchstuff (RIP)

All the above were very entertaining

Holly, you may not be familiar with the names I mentioned as they were from the North American forum of 50 plus that was discontinued many years ago. It was a huge forum brought down by a troll.....made a lot of us sad.
Well I was a member of 50 plus , I was even a moderator on there Lee.. but I'm still no wiser as to your friends.. I think my memory is going..

Holly, you may be thinking of the UK based 50 plus, the one I refer to was mostly Canadian and American with just a few from your country. 7 Katz was the moderator.

Afterthought, I went by the name of Kittymom on that forum.

Lee, I remember Laura and Elkourie very well.
I know Laura passed away but is Elkie still around?
I was on 50 Plus for several years.

I remember some of the names mentioned in this thread and it's sad to think that some have passed away.

Anyone remember Chrissy, I think her name was. She had an angel profile pic and was from the central California valley. I really liked her.

Oh did she. I didn't know that. I know she had a good relationship with her daughter and she lived in that house alone. Thank you for the information.
