Potential scam alert that wasn’t

AI does not know everything 🙄

I have been waiting for the vet to call me back with an appointment time for my horse who has gone 3-legged lame.

It was about the time of day the clinic makes its calls before the Receptionists go home.

The scroll at the top of the phone call said potential scam. I recognized the first three digits of the call number and thought maybe not so I answered it, and sure enough it was the Clinic calling me back with my appointment time for the vet to come out and see my horse.

This was one time I did not want to let the phone go to voicemail. When the Vet is involved, I want to speak to the person not the voicemail. I figured if it was a scam, the frame of mind I’m in they would really get their ear full, and that would give me a lot personal satisfaction.😂😂

I've had that happen too. If I know I'm expecting a call I go ahead and answer it. If you put that number in your contacts it should stop that.

I did🤠

The main number is in my phone but they have multiple numbers for the vet techs and receptionists. It’s never been an issue in the past. I guess the “potential scam” warnings are wrenching down harder in this day and age. Too bad we have come to this.☹️

Phone scammers typically spoof legitimate phone numbers when running their victimizing games. Perhaps one happened to use the vet's number and it was reported as spam. I don't report phone numbers as spam for exactly that reason.

When expecting a call from someone whose number isn't in my phone, I'll answer an unknown number. If not, I let my phone service screen it.

During screening, when callers identify themselves as people I want to talk to, I simply interrupt the screening by answering the call.

There is an exchange number for the hospital that is different than numbers within the hospital. What it is when some staff are working from home, or using their personal phones, it routes it through this exchange, only trouble is if you just miss the call , you can't call it back. The important ones will leave a message and say "I'm working from home, call me @, or call me tomorrow when I'll be in the office. There are numerous extensions for that exchange prefix, so I don't bother to try and add the numbers.
