Power outages cause London's Heathrow Airport to close for the day

Rattling rusted sabers isn't really very wise. The UK, Canada, Germany, etc. have hollowed out their militaries, services, and industries through woke policies. The marginalized and disparaged are turning deaf ears to pleas for patriotism so late in the game.

Ye reap what ye have sown. Good luck with those seat warmers you have in service.

I know..if only WE the people had been responsible for those woke policies, instead of the govt minorities.....then we would only have ourselves to blame.. but be assured it wasn't us Joe Bloggs.... this is what makes it all so infuriating

I just hope we can navigate things this time around to find a viable trade-off that benefits as many people as possible. As bad as things are, the answer isn't to swing to the other extreme either.

It must be sorting itself pretty quickly because my cat-sitting has been moved up to tomorrow (neighbor only suffering a one day delay instead of the original 2 day delay of the start of her trip).

It amazes me that Heathrow didn't have back up emergency generators. It seems like something that could have been foreseen. There are a 100 planes approaching to land, and the power goes out??????? What could possibly go wrong?
I wonder how many other airports don't have emergency power back up?

I was in Heathrow once. That was enough for me. The only good part of my short stay in Heathrow was the security guard with the suitcase sniffing dog. Watching him, the dog, and the small children made the otherwise depressing stay there somewhat tolerable.

I saw a map of the planes in route that had to divert and there was an awful lot of them. This is a major inconvenience for thousands of travelers. Yesterday a reporter said he talked with a couple who were dragging their suitcases, walking down the road because they were told their flight wouldn't leave until Monday. I wonder if they were trying to find a hotel or heading back to their car.

I felt like I was in New Delhi and they took my on board apart with white gloves.

By 1990 I new O'Hare, I could park and move around in it like a Pro.
I quit going to Chicago by 1994 because of the violence People were experiencing.
Yep a brick actually hit the trunk of my 66 Ford GTA. That's it I said!
I was just turning around near down town Lake shore Drive.
Chicago can GTH. For the most part I avoid /driving into St. Louis / especially E. St. Louis downtown too.

They said it was an old transformer and the oil inside caught fire. But even then there's still plenty of old transformers around.
