And I'm hoping that the storm doesn't cause as much damage as forecast. I especially pray that members don't experience the power outages meteorologists and utility companies are predicting could last for days. Please heed any warnings, stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. There have already been so many multi vehicle accidents, even involving 18 wheelers. I hope everyone has enough food and supplies to last, as well as the ability to stay warm. If you can, please check in and let us know how you are faring. @seadoug ...I know you're good. 🤗

Amen, Diva

We're expecting 12"-18" of dry fluffy snow over the next 24 hours. That isn't unusual for my area this time of year. We have a long driveway but a good plow guy so it shouldn't be a problem. The upside is that this should be the last of the brutally cold days for a while. It was -10 F when I got up this morning! Brrrrrrr . . . :(

Here in my area of Pennsylvania, we have about 4-6 inches of snow. That’s an estimate because I am not going out at the moment to measure it. It’s still snowing at a decent rate. I guess the amount of snow is unknown. All that’s posted on the local weather station is 12+ inches. No church today. The squirrels are raiding our bird feeders, except for the one we have a baffle over it, which makes it impossible for them to get to the food in the feeder. Plenty of birds at the moment are having a feast.

Thank you Diva! It's coming down pretty steadily now. We have quite a bit of snow ❄️ on the ground even before today. I believe they want people to stay in and keep warm. Bless you Diva 💖
You are welcome, of course. Thank you and blessings to you too. Continue to stay safe.
How about you, Miss Diva? You must have had an enormous amount of snow in your town. Hopefully you didn't have any electricity lapses!
Thank you so much for your concern Doc❣️ You can see how much snow we got by this picture of my patio. By 1 p.m. Sunday, I estimated it to be 12 - 13 inches, but haven't seen the official number. Thank God our power didn't go out. My son went out and cleaned his car twice yesterday and again today. He said he was glad he did it twice yesterday...made it easier to get done today because the snow is heavy. We have enough food and water. He's a trucker and may have to go to work in the morning (his job shut down today). He leaves around 3:30, which could make it harder to see any black ice.

Some of the snow fell off the railing, which I used to judge. By around 6:30, when I took this, the the wind carried some to the right, burying our large tote.

I have been watching, occasionally, about the
weather in America, it is frightening to me,
anyway, that so much snow can disable a
country of that size!

Here, in London, if there is an inch or so of
snow, on the roads, no buses run, so people
can't get to work unless they can walk to a
Tube Station.

Stay safe all of you and I hope that you have
enough supplies in your home.

Mike.

I'm just around the corner in Bromley!

stay safe y'all

We didn’t get as much snow as predicted . We may have gotten 8 inches in total. We already had about 4 to 6 inches. Today the schools were closed and most businesses.
Tomorrow I have a doctors appointment to get my prescriptions refilled. It will be the last time I see my doctor. He’s moving to Toronto Ontario. I’m going to miss him. He is a very good doctor.

Your snowfall this season sounds a bit like ours, unusually low for this point in the year. We've hand shoveled, and I ran the snowblower a couple times (but was picking up soil or gravel from underneath). Our situation is that what snow has fallen has been followed by rain, then by clear, cold nights. So... much level, open area on our place is glassy... ice.

Sounds like your doctor is going to make home where there's big snow.🤷‍♂️

Middle Tennessee is s till struggling through power outages, burst pipes, and I have read new reports of food shortages.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency has confirmed five weather-related deaths across the state, with two in Davidson County, after an ice storm rolled in this weekend.

The winter storm has left thousands without power, caused damages and downed trees, prompted school closures and caused crashes across the state.

Weather-related Deaths

TEMA reported the weather-related deaths in a flash report Thursday which are as follows:

  • One fatality in Crockett
  • Two fatalities in Davidson
  • One fatality in Haywood
  • One fatality in Obion”

My area has not lost power but another polar cold front is dipping down from Canada this weekend. I think the news media commented that Miami, FL may see freezing temps for the first time since 1989.

My neighbors have all wheel drive, so they were able to get off the hill without issue. they told me the place where we buy our heating propane had cars in a long line for two days in a row along the berm of the state highway. That has never ever happened before —— people were waiting to get their small tanks filled.

My hope is by the time Monday rolls around the weather has changed for the better as is predicted, and hopefully the feed store & the grocery store will have something to feed my critters and me. I’m still good for another 10 to 12 days but for me that is running low and I need to restock.

Everyone caught up in this —tchin’ weather has had IT.

We have about a foot of snow. It’s snowed and rained as well. My husband just finished snowblowing our doggies poo, pee paths. With all the weather forecasts I was expecting a lot more. We are expecting more snow on Sunday - 25 centimetres more

I read in the Daily Record, today, that in February,
there will be a mega snow storm, 600 miles from
North to South, that will leave 40 inches in the
Highlands and not much less, further South, I will
be locked in for the duration if that comes along.

Mike.
