President Obama

I was watching & listening to Obama's message about the massacre in France, & I couldn't help but notice the weight he has lost & how he had aged since taking office.
No doubt he was shocked like the rest of the Western world, that could have accounted for his pale demeanour & what seemed to be a lack of conviction.

Perhaps reality has come home from the US opening up the hornets nest that was in Iraq, GW's 'baby'.

I think a couple off terms in office of the Presidency will age most men. I think Obama will be glad when his term is over.

He has made a valiant effort with many victories and some defeats but I never doubted his heart or intentions.

No. That was started after FDR and his many terms as Congress decided to end such extended terms and give others chances to share the title of President.

For Christ's sake Bob... I KNOW that... I was actually meaning that because the job is SO stressful.... it is of benefit to have only TWO terms.. do you think I am an idiot? You don't have to "school" ME Bobby... Most times subtleties and nuances go right over your head.

Then what was the problem with me saying so? All you biased and twisted types just think only you folks are allowed to post on this forum. Think some more. I also have some privileges on this forum. Don't like what I say, just move on. You are definitely so much smarter than I so why bother.

And not everybody shows that they know that by what they do post on this thread. Ever hear comments about dynasty on this forum? I have, and just recently. No we do not want any more dynasty events for the President and should likely build some limits in the Congress for the Senators and maybe even for the Representatives too.

WTH is it with you and this constant "Biased and twisted" crap Bob.... Do you not know how to debate without being insulting? Just answer WHY you constantly say that.

I agree Fern, as Drifter said usually after two terms as President, they generally look older and worn. He's had extra stress on his shoulders since day one also, with most in the government vowed to conspire against him and fight him tooth and nail on all issues so he wouldn't have a chance get a second term, then after being elected twice, the anger and frustration made them continue on their course against him.

As you mention, G. W. Bush left his 'baby' on President Obama's doorstep to deal with, along with a failing economy, so attempting to clean up the mess left to him has only caused more damage to him both physically and mentally. He will breathe a sign of relief when his last day in office comes around, but knowing how strong he is, and determined he is to help the American people, I'm sure he'd stay for a third term if he could, I'm pretty certain he'd win that election also.

Maybe this is why they only get two terms?

I agree Quicksilver, a third term might just break down any President, especially one who's had to endure all Obama has during his time in office.

I think Obama has done more for this country than any POTUS since FDR. He brought us out of the greatest economic collapse since the Great Depression. He saved Wall Street, which IS the engine that runs the economy. He got us out of Iraq and Afghanistan, like he promised. He gave us affordable heath care and gave 11 million poor insurance. He cut a $1.2 trillion annual deficit that Shrub Jr. left him with in half. He stopped torture. And he did all this in spite of the obstructionist cons. In fifty years his face will be on Mt. Rushmore.

No debt was cut yet. It has gone from about 11 trillion when Obama took over to now 18.5 trillion. Easy to check on several national web sites.

I see you are afraid to look at the stats and you have no proof of other than what I posted Jim. Pretty sad situation to live with. It is part of the national conversation about the debt and needing to fix it. I believe it was even commented on in last nights debate as they did discuss tax rules changes, business rules changes, financial rules changes.

Seabreeze, thanks for your comments, you put it so eloquently. Not only has he had the stress of office but his place of birth being questioned, no doubt there is much for.

There is a difference between the "National Debt" and the "annual deficit". Bush43 left office with a $1.2 trillion "annual deficit". Obama has cut it in half.
The $6 trillion added by Bush 43 to the "national debt" was done with a "REPUBLICAN" congress and senate. He did it by giving $3 trillion in welfare tax cuts to millionaires, and another $3 trillion for the stupid Iraq war.
The House of Representatives has been run by "REPUBLICANS" for over five years. And the "REPUBLICAN" candidates for president are all calling for more tax cuts for the rich, more tax cuts for corporations, more spending on deporting Mexicans, and more spending on war.
Any spending by Obama was for getting us out of the economic ditch the "Republicans" put us in.

Here's a clue....the poor can't pay off the debt you are complaining about. And war with Iran is going to be ten times more expensive than the one with Iraq.
