Is it possible to prevent a member from reacting/replying/ quoting another member's post.

I don't think so, but you can put the member on "ignore" and then you won't see their post.

Everything from the ignored poster should be hidden. HOWEVER, I think if somebody who is NOT hidden quotes the ignored poster, the ignored poster's message may show up in their reply. I don't know for certain....the few people I've put on ignore went away on their own and there's nothing to ignore anymore.
My problem is that I'm too nosy to ignore anybody for long.....

On another front..just got a notification that a "brand new member" just joined is now "following" me. I was never clear on what his means. This person joined earlier today, and has not yet posted. SO I guess these kinds are scammers, or oddballs.
Is there a way to block someone from this? Or does it not mean alot? Gives me the creeps

I seriously don't know... I follow some people, and some follow me, and there's never been anything different happening that I can tell. I look at the "What's new" to see posts and not much else. Now, everything everyone I follow *does* shows up in my news feed but I never look at that.
I'll have to pick someone to follow and find out.
Don't ask why I added the feet .. I just liked the look of them.
