Preventing dye stains on my pillow case.

I use neck support when sleeping. I have a neck pillow which fits my neck nicely and seems to give the proper support.

But, whenever I use it I notice it leaves blue dye stains on the pillow. I washed it but still some stains. Is there a trick to prevent the dye color from staining the pillow? I'm not too handy with fabric or laundering tricks.

Or cover the pillow with an old towel, or encase it completely in an old t-shirt.

Such a good solution. Dang! And here I am looking for a way to remove the dye. I'm going to throw an old something over it and just let that nasty old dye rip into it. Honestly, I was looking right past the simple but effective solutions. Thanks.

I assumed you were looking for a way to prevent the dye from staining in the future. After all, it's common knowledge that when a dye pervades woven fabrics, you cannot remove it.

Is it dye from your hair staining the pillow or the stain from the pillow on your hair? Just wondering.

Quickie fix, lay a small towel over the pillow to protect against dye transfer from the neck pillow.

I put covers on my pillows and then an older towel.
