Products We Use and Sensitivities

I have found some products like laundry detergent can cause me distress in the form of intense itching in the areas I wear clothes. So, I have changed my laundry det. to All Free and Clear. The itching is gone now.

I also think a bath additive I was using was also making me itch so I stopped using that also. I was getting bumps on my skin where I itched, too.

Do you have any product sensitivities and what are they and what did you use and what do you use now?

aside from avaocados and kiwi fruit both of which I have an allergy too....


..I'm highly allergic to topical muscle pain relief heat sprays.. I have no idea what's in them that causes me to come out in the worst hives if any of the spray touches me, but it does.

I just use heat or ice packs instead of the sprays and in fact it's been proven that the heat and ice sprays don't actually penetrate the muscles anyway they just heat or chill the top epidermis of the skin , so I'm probably fortunate that I'm allergic, and have to use the heat pads..

Hmm. Well there is only one antiperspirant that I can use and it's Dove classic, any fragrance. When I use any other kind my underarms get red and irritated.

What's puzzling about that is that I've compared ingredients, and there appears to be no difference between most of the mainstream ones other than maybe fragrance. But I've tried fragrance free in other brands and still break out. So I have no clue what I'm reacting to.

Raid. It causes a severe headache & several symptoms that made me think I had M.S.
I'm not sensitive to laundry detergent, but I don't like the fake perfumy smell they add to it that lingers on the clothes. I've been using "Arm & Hammer" for sensitive skin. It has no dyes, colorings or perfumes.

I'm allergic to petroleum products. That means many scented products made from petroleum. My skin is super sensitive. I get hives and rashes, if not careful. Anything that touches the skin has to be washed in unscented, color free detergent, even bed sheets.
I've had good luck with Seventh Generation for laundry detergent and dish detergent {which I also use as hand soap}. It's expensive, but goes on sale from time to time.
Purex free and clear laundry detergent works for things like towels and outerwear {jackets, sweaters}
Clearly Natural Essentials Unscented hand soap works well in place of shower gel.
Tom's unscented stick deodorant.
CeraVe moisturizing lotion.
Fruit of the Earth no alcohol Aloe Vera 100% gel.
I make my own lip balm with coconut oil and beeswax.
The only perfume I've been able to tolerate is Ecco Bella ~ Bourbon Vanilla ~ Eau De Parfum Spray, which men seem to love. Well, alcoholics anyway.

I think I'm allergic to them, too. My skin has always been very sensitive, too. I saw the Seventh Generation products and might start to use them, too. But I haven't had a problem with perfumes--I only put them on my forearms and neck and clothes.
