A man has bizarrely claimed King Henry Vlll’s sandals could be Greggs steak bakes, which could make him a time traveller.

The Twitter user, Luke from Manchester, posted a picture of the former king’s portrait and pointed out his footwear - which bore a striking resemblance to a steak bake.

Luke questioned if the 16th-century portrait proved the king travelled to the future to visit the British bakery.

In his tweet, he wrote: "Why do Henry VIII’s shoes look like a Greggs steak bake?”

The bakery chain was amused at the discovery.

In a tweet, it replied: “Losing our heads over this.”

There was a TV show on yesterday offering photographic proof of time travelers.

One was a Charlie Chaplin film clip showing a woman walking and she looked like she was using a cell phone.

Another showed a picture from the early 1940s and there was a young man wearing modern looking sunglasses who had a more modern hairstyle than everyone else. Of course, everyone else had a hat on.

But we all know that photographs aren't tampered with and silent movie clips aren't staged.
