Proposed New York skyscraper design

IMO, looks like an eye-sore.

I hear you AM. Two things here. One like you I feel it will never be built and two if it does get built you and I won't see it from where we live, you being 734 miles Northwest and I being 1,116 miles South of there.

It just doesn't fit in architecturally with the other buildings.

Almost resembles a porta-potty to me.

Pretty expensive toilet bowl. lol. Their West 57th Street Condo prices start at $16,000,000. These super high skyscrapers must have the views to die for and if I lived in one and I heard a jet engine sputtering I'd probably die right there from fright.

I'll never understand money in this world, but no thanks to high-rise living for me.

In the event of a fire or quake or any other emergency, I want ground level windows and doors to escape out of.

Watching those poor people perish on top of and inside of the Trade Towers (911), put an end to any dream I ever had about living high.

I would have made for a poor Jefferson's, wouldn't I?

"Well, we're movin' on up, movin' on up, to the East side, movin' on up, to a de-luxe... apartment, in the sky". :giggle:

High rise living is tough in itself if one is not wealthy especially in midtown Manhattan. If you cant afford to live in a penthouse you're looking right at the building next door or across the street. Parking is sparse and expensive. Even if you're a cop you obviously can't park at a fire hydrant and rightly so but you'll get towed at a bus stop. Traffic bites and food shopping is a joke. Did I leave anything out?

You left nothing out.

I would never make it in a metropolis, the hustle and bustle, the crime, the crows, the lack of privacy, the lack of freedom, the expense, the extreme pollution, no thanks to that.

I can't help but think of the claustrophobic-like feeling of being cooped-up in an apartment surrounded by high-rises all around, to the point of blocking any and all signs of life, nature, and freedom.

Can't think of anything more oppressive and depressing.

We can walk out our front door and pet deer, now that's living.

Not sure I like it but heck, what do I know. The build “up” process is real enough. The skyline has changed dramatically over the years.
This building looks rather bulky, so will definitely stand out along the waterview
