Purchases via the web gone crazy? cigars in particular?

I occasionally like to partake but these days in OZ very expensive - so it is a rare treat - I'm already a member of what I thought was a reliable site - it worked OK and I made several good quality purchases. Had a gap for a while and went back today only to discovered a cautionary note: purchases by credit card have ceased due to scamming and then they recommended other more lengthy ways or securing a purchase - you must realize that here in Oz they are probably quadruple the price as the USA and getting quick dispatches is part of the excitement and pleasure.

I can understand their dilemma but what about mine? - using international sites doesn't help much they will take longer to travel and still be expensive after paying Oz taxes? - not really looking for a solution just mouthing off?? - ie technology doesn't always improve efficiency?

Cigar prices have gone up in the US, even before inflation. And then inflation added to it. I used to enjoy one now and then, but they're just one more unnecessary luxury that I have removed from my life. I could afford to buy a box right now, but I'm not going to play their game. Eating out, watching TV, and plane flights to visit relatives or just gawk at stuff, have been out of my life for a few years now, and frankly, I like it better this way.
