Purple Coneflower

My Purple Coneflower is blooming. I planted the seeds last September because I read that they like a lot of sun, and I had a very sunny spot to fill.

The didn't do much at first and completely died off during the winter. Then this spring, they popped up and grew like a weed.

It's a perennial, so hopefully it will spread and we'll have it for a while.

I do not trim them back in the fall. The birds like the seeds, they devour them. A winter treat for the birds.

Thank you for posting, always had cone flowers in our gardens, and have to get some planted in memory of my Mom... Coneflower is the flower for ALS... Again, Thank you for sharing...
