Fantastic pic OY. I used to visit Kinlochewe and Loch Maree (formally Loch Ewe) a few times a year, but I haven't been recently. To the north at Poolewe, is a natural harbour where the Russian convoys gathered in WW2. It was also a restricted area for training special forces during WW2.

Have you any pictures on the other side of the road of the Beinn Eighe range (pronounced (Ben eh)?

There's a campsite in Kinlochewe, but it's a long walk round before you even start to climb. On two occasions we attempted to climb Slioch (the highest of the peaks), but the weather turned bad, so we retreated. Loch Maree is also infamous for midgies !

This 'snap' of Slioch (from the Gaelic for spear) was taken from beside the campsite. The lower peak is Sgurr Dubh .

Thanks :)

This is looking over towards Torridon from the south so that should be the Beinn Eighe range beyond.
