The Quaker Oats Company said Friday that it is recalling some granola bars and granola cereals sold across the U.S. because they could be contaminated with salmonella, a potentially lethal bacterium.

See here for a full list of the recalled products, which were sold in all 50 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Guam and Saipan, according to Quaker Oats. No other Quaker products are affected, the company said.

Thanks for that. I don't buy any of those products. I usually get oatmeal at Trader Joe's and small natural brand cereals and bars.

Thank you for the information Rose. I've found cheaper options than Quaker products that are just as good, so haven't had that brand in the house for a few years.

So much for 'health' food. But that's the problem with a lot of 'health' food it may be more nutritious or not as fatty but 'natural' food is also more fragile and susceptible to things like salmonella.

Good info to have, thanks. Luckily nothing I bought is in the list. But wow I didn't realize they made so many varieties, and I never heard of puffed granola.
