Maybe that's part of why he did what he did. Not trying to justify it I'm just saying his mental state may have already been compromised when the act took place.

yes we'll never know unless she gives her story, but tbh if you felt that your husband was a good man, , you'd be more likely to stand by him than file for divorce within 3 days.

She must have seen something...some subtle change or something that alarmed her. Or maybe the changes had already started and she was in fear and left before things went south.

I'm sure policeman work under horrendous amounts of stress in high crime areas.
