Question about astral traveling. Have you? It seems as though I traveled through time and space while tripping. I was at a homecoming football game and it seemed that I was traveling through time visualizing past homecoming games.

I've had lots of experiences and still do occasionally, but unfortunately, not as many or as intense as I had while I was younger for some reason. I lay it to I don't meditate as much as I did as when I started in my 20's; or when I try I fall asleep these daysHi Olivia, and Everyone: I am so into the Astral travel and all this. I'm so glad to see others talking about this. I have had numerous experiences especially when I was little and in my teens. My Mom is into the spiritual stuff also. I have consulted a number of Pychics, and I am always fascinated by this. I haven't talked about any of this in quite a while. It's sad on other forums I can't really I always got ignored like other folks. I love Robert Moody's books and others.I
My wife had an experience sort of like that when she was younger (18 or 19). She went to the library and found a book on witchcraft. She said it looked very old, leather cover, and even smelled a little. She checked it out; going thru the normal 'checking out of library books' routine with a card holder pasted in the back, etc. She said it had all sorts of spells and drawings in it.My mother claimed to have had those out-of-body experiences as a child. For her, it was related to reading this book on witchcraft that she found in the chest under a bed in the house-owner's room. The owner of the storage chest, an Afro Puerto Rican elderly man, had repeatedly and very dramatically warned her that it was not intended for children. But she had persistently insisted and he finally reluctantly gave in.
She started reading it meticulously, and was soon applying its techniques. One involved controlling other classmate's movements by concentrating while clasping of her hands.
Then she started healing people suffering from pain via massages, until she became locally famous, and ill people began waiting for her to be healed after she had arrived from school. They would leave food such as poultry as payment. She became totally engrossed in that healing activity despite her siblings' mockery until this woman, whom she had just supposedly healed via a massage, suddenly claimed to be possessed by the ghost of a recently-diseased female and claiming that the disease woman had endowed her with that ability to heal. That's when my mother became terrified and tried to stop.
However, her attempt to stop triggered out of body experiences which began to occurring every night. She also started hearing sinister voices uttering garbled, nonsensical messages. Finally, what felt like a malicious supernatural effort intended to force her to resume her spiritistic practices, eventually stopped when she started attending church.
Very interesting experiences and hypothetical explanations. My wife had an experience sort of like that when she was younger (18 or 19). She went to the library and found a book on witchcraft. She happened to have a co-worker where she worked that didn't like her very much and picked on her a lot. One day she said this person was giving her a hard time, and when she (co-worker) sat down in a straight chair my wife silently repeated one of the spells she learned in the book. The co-worker's chair then just fell apart right under her sending her on her butt to the floor.
Being the good library user she was she took the book back to the library when it was due, but when she went back to check it out again a couple of weeks later it wasn't there and there was no record of it ever being there.
My take on all things of this nature is that the mind can be/is extremely strong when it's focused, as in, a spell/incantation, any specified point on one's body as in meditation/thought, or any other 'one pointedness.' Of course the mind can cause all sorts of problems too, whether to our self or others thru suggestion. Is there evil out there? I believe so. But personally I think we create it ourselves.
I was never interested in witchcraft but after my wife related this story to me back years ago, I was sort of dwelling on it the next day. I had just gotten to work and was waiting for time to clock in with a lot of friends/coworkers, etc. We were all nursing our cups of coffee beforehand. One worker, who was sitting across the room from me was sitting in a chair and set his coffee on the arm of his chair while looking at a newspaper. Just for the heck of it I thought I'd try a little experiment.
I watched the worker's coffee sitting there on the arm of his chair while visualizing it tipping over. I didn't really want it to spill on him so I visualized it tipping the other way. I only tried for about a half a minute when suddenly it just flipped over and went to the floor. It literally shocked me so much I had to get up and walk away. I felt guilty the rest of the day. Coincidence? Maybe. Who can say?
I've seen sites like that. They're interesting. I've seen magicians like Copperfield do the same. In any case, no way do I think evil spirits are to blame. Just my opinion though.Very interesting experiences and hypothetical explanations.
A personal experience I had was on the Internet while I was seeking information on Wickens. In my search, I found myself at this website which claimed to be able to accurately know any three-digit number that the person might be thinking. Now, I considered that totally impossible because it required probing into my mind, and deciphering the neuro transmitter sequence meanings of my brain.
So going contrary to what I had been biblically advised, which was to avoid such supernatural-related things due to their link to evil spirits, I decided to try it out. Again I imagine a three-digit number as requested, and then pressed the response icon. Immediately, to my amazement, the exact three-digit number I had been thinking appeared on the screen. Surely this had to be some coincidence!
Now, to prove that it indeed had been mere coincidence, I tried it again. and there it was again-the exact three-digit number that I had been thinking clearly displayed on the screen. Yet again I did it with the same result. That's when I panicked and hurriedly surfed away from that website. I never went back for fear that whatever it was that had managed to gain access to my mind, would gain further access and do some serious damage with my unintended cooperation.
As for astral projection,
Astral projection - Wikipedia
I have had some experiences that believers in astral projection would have interpreted as astral projection. However, since I am not a believer in the spirit-body dichotomy concept, I did not. I just attributed to some unusual neurotransmitter activity.
BTW Some individuals only have such experiences when they are off certain meds which indicates that it can indeed be induced by cerebral neurotransmitter irregularities.
Did you ever get around to doing your "whatnot?" I'd like to hear about that.It was one normal night. I had gone to bed and sleep hours before. Then I woke up as I often do.
I reached up to pull the chain that turns on the lightbulb in the floor lamp that hovers over my bed
to read and whatnot.
How about knitting a sweater?Did you ever get around to doing your "whatnot?" I'd like to hear about that.![]()
You might have been lucid dreaming. That started with me during the Covid epidemic. In my younger days a few months ago! - I bought a book on AT and read it well and then practiced it some - it certainly stretched my imagination and I was goin places and seeing things I didn't normally see and yet as I lay on my bed practicing these things I felt I was in different and real places at the same time - yea weird - not sure why I didn't continue maybe fear?
Heavy snow very disorienting.Maybe? I got out of work one night when I was 18. It was snowing heavily and I got lost in the snow swirls looking for the subway entrance. I wandered down a street that was gaslit. I never saw this IRL before. Only in movies. I came to a horse drawn carriage.with people dressed like they were living in the 19th century. I kind of freaked out. I went back the way I had come and found my way to the subway and took a train and a bus home.
Months later in summer I looked for that little side street but never found it. I wasn't sleeping. Was this astral projection or time travel? I would guess the latter but it never happened again and I don't know why it happened that night. Maybe something to do with the snow?
Mesc ?You had a first planer and those aren't scarry at all. The levels may not be understood if you've never experienced them. Even in dreaming, esp. heavy dreaming, we go out of body a bit.
I have a file on this but the computer I'm using is new and I haven't transferred my files yet.
I've had many 1st plane OBE'S where I could not penetrate the walls of my room to go out and fly around. At times when I did it was weird because I kept losing altitude and flapped my arms like wings to stay air bound.
I've found myself on the ceiling, floor, etc., many times, even finding myself facing down in bed when I was laying on my back.
