It’s called Madagascar Ebony
Its colours are a marbled black brown
It’s a very hard exotic wood.

A wood that’s close to ebony is wenge which is pronounced when- gay. It’s also a very hard exotic wood. It’s so hard that it’s difficult to finish. The grain is really tight.

I've burned up the teeth of a few chainsaw chains on what the locals call 'silvers' (semi petrified logs)
It's pretty much like cutting thru rock

A small chunk can be strategically placed for decoration

That's all I know

These are made from beech wood. They were carved by my husband. They aren’t in great condition due to the fact that we wash them in the dishwasher which is hard on wood.

He sure is. He can make anything and fix anything. I think I’ll keep him.
The set would look better if we clean them by hand. Wood shouldn’t go in a dishwasher.

Heard about it on a Christian talk show..and doing further research...in ancient times..used in making boats.
