we often wonder why it's called gas in the USA and petrol in every other country ..lol

LPG and gasoline are two different types of gases. LPG is made up of chemicals such as; propane and butane. Gasoline is refined from oil with chemical additives.
LPG is used for bar-b-que grilles, some vehicles, cooking, heating, etc. It is in actual liquid into gas form.
Gasoline is primarily used in combustible engines. Gasoline us not an actual gas. It us a liquid.
We learned in school the different types of matter; solids, liquids and gases. Some scientists also include Plasma, which U.S. used in neon lights.

yes we know this... but why given that it's a liqhid... that we use in our cars...called Petroleum ( petrol ).. is it called GAS in the US ?

Just like PETROL is a shortened form of PETROLEUM.

yep! Across the USA, they are gas stations…. Where you get gasoline for your vehicle.
remember when they were called service stations?
They still are in Australia, but nowadays they're more commonly called the servo, ironically the only service is at the cashier or service counter.
That’s back when we pulled into a service station and we ran over a rubber hose that rang the bell inside and the service man would come out to the pumps to pump our gasoline for us.
Those days are over.
They would also check the oil, and there was a rack of refillable pints and quarts nearby.
A quick search reminds of the quote from you know who, two countries separated by a common language.

except in Spain in many places they still fill your tank for you... clean the windshield.. but no green stamps lolAnd clean the windshield. and give Green Stamps..
Here in the Uk we haven't see windscreen cleaning or servced petrol filling since the 60's

...and quite often a sucker to any kid in the car and sometimes a dog biscuit for your pup. There was quite the competition between stations for your loyalty. Lots of promotions like a free dishtowel or a glass or something with a fill-up of at least 8 gallons.And clean the windshield. and give Green Stamps..
On a six month road trip from Texas to Alaska, I pulled into a gas(oline) station in Oregon to fill the tank. As I stepped out of my vehicle, a young man came out and said, "Can I help you?" I thought maybe I had pulled into the wrong pumps, maybe it was for trucks only or something? I stood there confused for a few moments, thinking I would have to move my van.
He said, "We pump your gas here. In Oregon, it is against the law for you to pump your own gas." I was shocked! I said, "So you will fill my tank for me???" He chuckled and replied, "Yes, Ma'am." I didn't know what to say. So I got back into the driver's seat while he also cleaned the windshield and I handed him the cash to pay.
I think since then, they have rescinded that law. But it was sooo very strange, like a step back into the distant past.

It was only a few years ago a neighbor who'd done some traveling said that law was still in effect.

Yes, it was in the 1960s that I recall it, too.
In 1991 I was in a god forsaken place called Meekatharra. I reached out to the pump and a was rudely told that @It's a $2000 fine if you touch that. I coldly replied telling her not spill any, the laugh was on her because I was sitting on the bike and it's illegal to fill a motorcycle while still sitting on it! Had I known that there was another servo in town I would have dropped the pump handle on the ground and ridden off. In rural WA you get your fuel where you can...
On my first trip to Philadelphia in 1975 I encountered the same in New Jersey, no self serve. Quite a shock as I never heard of it. I don't know if it has changed or not since then?
