Questions regarding golden years!

Hi everyone, I’m sure I’m not the only one, but I feel like I just turned my head and I’m in a complete different stage of life and I have questions.

First question I have, is there an easy way to transition from a happy full life to a complete opposite life?

Welcome to our forum, is there an easy transition? Old age slows things down due to natural physical and cognitive decline, such as slower reaction times, reduced muscle strength and coordination, and a decline in cognitive processing speed. While many changes are normal, they can affect daily tasks, and it's often possible to counteract or slow these effects through regular exercise and healthy habits.

Glad you joined us... and welcome! I'm not sure I'm fully understanding your question. Are you saying you expect your senior years to *not* be happy and full? Because that's not the way most folks find it... it often becomes fuller and happier because of the lack of 9 to 5 stress and demands.

Unless your dead by 65, everyone who ever lived that many years, wonders what happened to their youthful view of life. You have heard that saying, "Everyone grows old, but not everyone grows up." Have some patience. Anything you think of, that you want to do, see if you can do it. Even small seemingly insignificant stuff. Follow your own mind...it got you this far. :)

Stay active and busy. Get involved with your community. Travel if possible. I will be 80 next month and I am president of the residents association at my retirement community and an editor of our newsletter. There are plenty of other volunteer opportunities, some helping others outside of our community.
