Quilting is my passion

Hi, I’m new here. I’ve had a needle of one kind or another in my hand for as long as I can remember. I used to sew my own clothes and started quilting about 30 years ago and it’s taken over my life and condo! This is my latest.IMG_0796.jpeg

OMG...what an artist you are... I'm useless at crafting... but I recognise a Master at her craft...what a lovely thing..

How long did it take you to make?

Thank you. From cutting to piecing to quilting to binding, I don’t know for sure, less than 24 hours all together. 3D and optical quilts are a lot of fun. It’s all about shading in the fabric. The sewing is just straight lines.

That is amazing! I quilt but nothing on that level. For something Im really bad at I enjoy it a lot. Lol
I hope you post more pics.
This is actually easy. Just straight line sewing, no y seams! It’s all about the different shades of fabric. The pattern is Passages from The Guilty Quilter.

Your work is absolutely stunning. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.
My sewing machines are my best friends……have quilted for many years, but, not in recent years.
Please keep sharing…..look forward to your posts.

And BIG WELCOME TO SENIOR FORUMS.

Wowsa! That's a work of art!

My great-grandmothet and grandmother used to do quilting (I have some from both of them), but theirs were more utilitarian.

Outside of a couple of babies' "picture quilts", I've never followed in their footsteps (or would that be "fingersteps"?)

You're an artist.

Daisy, do you do your own top quilting with a long arm, or on your sewing machine?
I used to hand quilt but bought a long arm 11 years ago as a retirement gift to myself. I could never do that free motion that people do with sewing machine. What do you do?
