R.I.P Brian Wilson (beach Boys)

I was with my wife when we went to a concert of The Beach Boys. They were great. I think we were in California at the time. That was back when their type of music was fun listening to. We really enjoyed the concert.

RIP an icon in the music industry.

Prooved one didn't need extreme guitar solos, electronic drums, bass, synthesizers etc to make music
You might want to look at the album "Pet Sounds" liner notes, and count just how many musicians were involved in the recording process, and what instruments they were playing on it? Phil Spector was famous for his "Wall of Sound " layer over layer production techniques. Brian did a lot of that too. If you look at the 1964 TAMLA documentary film, which features the BB's, you will see a typical 5 man group, playing typical Fender guitars, and a basic Premier drum kit. By the mid 60's they were using a lot of electronic equipment to thicken their sound.

Still wasn't the extremes that seemed to become the norm by the late 60s/early 70s. I get album production with the studio equipment, redos, over dubs, tracks etc
