R.I.P Monkees Bassist Peter Tork

The Monkees bassist and singer Peter Tork died Thursday at the age of 77, his sister Anne Thorkelson has confirmed.
Tork's sibling did not clarify the suspected cause of his death, but in 2009 the musician was diagnosed with a rare cancer that affected his tongue.
'It is with beyond-heavy and broken hearts that we share the devastating news that our friend, mentor, teacher, and amazing soul, Peter Tork, has passed from this world,'

He celebrated his 77th birthday last Wednesday and is survived by his fourth wife Pam Tork .

At one time or another, I had a desperate crush on each of the Monkees in turn!! I even stopped going to my Girl Guide (Scout)meetings because it conflicted with the Monkees TV show. My Mum was scandalized, but I was adamant!

Godspeed Peter. You were my very first blonde crush. :love_heart:
 

Oh how sad. I absolutely adored the Monkees and was in love with Davy Jones from the age of 11. But, I was already taller than he was so I figured we would never happen. ;) Wore that 1st album out - totally.:love_heart:

Me too, Chic, I had a crush on Davy Jones too.

Sad about Peter, ....loved the Monkees!
 
I don't think The Monkees got enough credit for being the good band they were.
