Nice find, Dave. Yeah, the Internet Archive is a great source, and, as you know they also have a heck of a movie archive.Good Lord, 238 episodes of the Shadow on the internet. Here's one. That spooky intro isn't quite as spooky as I remember it, but it was still a fun revisit. I think I recall a full length film based on the Shadow from years ago, but I think it's been sent to archive of Hollywood flops.

I once knew a bloke who worked in a bank, he was a Loan Arranger.I didn't realize that it ran for so long but I can remember listening to the Lone Ranger on the radio when I was just a pup in the early 50's.

When I was at sea, all I could get was shortwave. I usually thought of shortwave as communication between two Ham operators, but in the middle of the night, there were all kinds of programs, things you never hear on regular radio. One program was a call in for people who had been abducted by aliens. Lots of "off beat" programs. When we lived in Turkiye, there was no television, so we relied on Armed Forces Radio for news, plays and music, and short wave radio for everything. There was always something interesting going on.
There were some fabulous programs available in English. Radio Vatican, Radio Luxembourg, Radio South Africa, etc. had all sorts of programs.....language programs, news, classical music. And then there were the "pirate stations", frequentlly operating from a ship in international waters, that had the latest rock 'n roll hits long before they hit the Armed Forces Radio broadcasts (and in some instances, that NEVER hit the AFRS broadcasts). When I was at sea, all I could get was shortwave.
