Ralphy - got a job for you - gin taster

I don't think I could handle that job. I'd be passed out in the hotel room! LOL Mabel sure can drink her gin and tonic now can't she? Six per day keeps her going! Well, she spaces them out so she is doing well. lol And to be 100 years old she deserves to do any dam thing she wants now doesn't she?! LOL

Ralphy claims to be a gin snob and only drinks the best. Thought about him when I read it.

LOL, Mabel can drink all she wants!!

yup, I've tried a lot of kinds of booze and have settled down to a good martini as my adult beverage of choice...

What happened to the gin??

Just got a message from stepdaughter about a new gin for us to try when we visit next week. Called Loch Ness and it's £45 a bottle.

Beefeater with a dollop of Stock vermouth does the trick for me and takes my blood pressure down thirty to forty points during the cocktail hour. Loch Ness? Sounds kind of slimey to me. How much is that American?

Loch Ness is not slimey!! Since the value of the pound went way down with Brexit it's only about $60.

No thanks, Beefeater is only $27, and has to be imported! What a deal for me. BTW, it is the botanicals that matter for flavor not the price. Check them out by drinking some straight as anything added other than a little vermouth will mask them...

According to stepdaughter it is so smooth you only need to drink it straight with a slice of kiwi. Or add a dry tonic water.

For that kind of money it ought to be smooth as silk! Fortunately, it is not available here or I might be tempted...

It's limited. Some local guys in Inverness. Only 500 bottles made this year. Only 100 left. I'm surprised stepdaughter actually paid that amount for a bottle.

limited amounts drive the prices up. Maybe she bought it for a special occasion, like your visit...
