Random offers to buy our truck.

So we have a diesel Ford F-350 in our driveway. It’s a big a** truck. And in the last couple months, half a dozen people have shown up at our door, keeping a respectful distance, I must say, and asked if it was for sale. What is up with that? Dave will part with nothing, so the answer is no. One guy has done work for us, so I knew him, but the rest were just random dudes. Usually with landscaping equipment. So yes, I can see they might want a big truck. Dave thinks we should post a sign. “This truck is NOT for sale.” Lol!

There's a huge surge in the purchase of recreational vehicles as people would like to "get away" but don't want to stay in hotels. You need a powerful pickup to pull some of those huge fifth wheels. Perhaps that what they are looking for......

That does seem weird. Never had that problem with our Ford Ranger (sadly deceased due to mouse eating the wiring). I have had random real estate agents show up asking if the place is for sale, but I think that is because I never mow (except a few paths) anymore (my excuse is I'm providing bird and bug habitat).

I can't tell you how many people used to knock on our door to ask to buy our Vinatge VW camper van... it began to be a PITA, saying no to everyone... until eventually we decided to garage it so no-one could see it...

A brand new B-A pickup easily costs $60+. If yours doesn’t get moved often, they might figure it doesn’t hurt to ask. Amazingly, that can work. There’s also a shortage of pickup trucks in the lots this year.

Texas? Big a** trucks? What's not to like? No surprise there. ;)

I have the polar opposite of a big truck, my little Toyota Echo. Though it is 21 years old, a neighbor who parks next to me always tells me that every time her nephew is visiting, he asks if I would sell him my car.

Minnesota? Small cars? No surprise there either.

Yup.... Ive stopped and asked about a few I noticed not used.

It doesn't hurt to ask. In the early 1970s, a friend bought a really nice 1941 Plymouth Special Deluxe that way. It had been the woman's daily driver and she had just retired. A few years later I got a 1966 Mustang the same way.

Sometimes it just works out.
