Re-using Postage Stamps

I do it all the time. I fill a little glass with water, rip off that part of the envelope with the stamp and in a little while the stamp slips right off. A few cents here and there all adds up.
 

You got to be kidding me:eek: That is nothing but theft!!!! But you will justify by saying that it is against the govt,or against the PO, or it's such a tiny amount!
Theft is theft no matter how much no matter from who!!!!!
How can you possibly think that this is in any way ok?

If you are so poor that you need to do this, please see a social welfare agency now, you need help!
 
I do it too. It's like found money albeit a few cents. I remember when a postage stamp only cost a nickel. :eek:
 
Other than the birthday and Mother's Day card to my mom every year, I haven't sent a stamped piece of postage in several years.

I just buy one stamp over the counter at the post office.

Well actually, I did. We didn't have a lot either when I grew up. I'm not saying desperation would not lead me to do something I ordinarily would not do. I'm just saying I don't have time and I wouldn't do that. No judgement here.
 
Theft or not, I wouldn't bother doing it, waste of time.

I buy a small book of stamps @ the P.O. & it lasts me several months. I don't use many these days.

I don't launder bathroom tissue either.

Kinda harsh? I don't know. Not many things in this modern world are black and white, right or wrong, any more. What other words do you use to describe,taking benefit of, with out the rightful owners permission, and withholding proper remuneration?

The truth is not harsh, it is the truth.

This is just me, I like a firm handshake and to be looked straight in the eye. Don't try to bullshit me or sugar coat it.

Why are you attempting to justify theft? It does not matter how poor or when your parents grew up. If you do this you are a thief !!!

Of course it's technically theft by the letter of the definition of the word. Everybody understands that.

But it's on such a minute scale, it really doesn't rate the level of reaction it got from you.

Pointing out that it's stealing is one thing. Going off on such a hostile, bold red font rant is, well... a bit harsh.

I am not crazy.
I do try to live my life in an honorable manner.
There are no degrees of honesty, it is like an on off switch
I try to speak clearly concisely and truthfully
I am missing that filter that most people have that mutes and softens their delivery.

I do use pre-paid return envelopes...I send back all the junk mail to the senders in them!!!! 001.gif
