Had to look up the translation of that. It looks like a beautiful place and having many places to worship is a wonderful thing.

I'd like to add to the welcome. 50 was 31 years ago for me & seems so young:)

When I was working I had a deaf employee that was accident prone. At least until I hired the wife of one of my employees that could translate what was presented during our safety meeting using hand language. He always felt left out so when he was included it was like magic his safety went from poor to no accidents.

That was not my 1st. but one I remember as being the best instance.

So you are 81 years of age. Another member here that definitely looks much younger than their actual age.

Communication is huge for the deaf community and even in the workplace. I am a bookkeeper and primarily work independently, but do have to attend meetings and work in the office sometimes and must involved in the communication of the work place or I might as well be useless. Most of the employees know zero sign language or very little, but when communicating with me the focus only on me when speaking so I can read their lips and concentrate when I am speaking because verbally it is difficult to understand me. I also speak slowly. It works for our company and I am considered a valued employee of the job.

Having someone to translate is huge and that is my daughter for me as well as my mom whenever I am with her.
