Record Gun Sales This Year To Date

Wow! That's amazing cause I live in the middle of Canada and don't own any guns at all. Hack, I don't even own a baseball bat. Actually, when I go for my daily walks, I don't even lock my door. Guess I'm a pretty lucky guy but hey, I live in a small town which suits me fine. Stories like those above makes a country boy like me shake his head and wonder "what is the world comin' to?"

We enjoy the same in our neck of the woods, Packs!

Except for the country boy bit, I can relate.

""Owning a handgun doesn't make you armed any more than owning a guitar makes you a musician." - Jeff Cooper"

Unless you take lessons on either one then your proficient in your music & also with your weapon.
I took piano lessons as a kid. Then a Dance band asked me to play with them in Lancaster Ohio. back in the '60s

Wow, I had no idea. Not sure why, but Americans seem to buy guns when feeling insecure.

I own quite a few guns,

I keep all the guns in locking safes and do not have any ammunition in the house. My biggest worry is keeping the grandkids away from them.
Alligatorob, I am so glad you said that. To me, YOU ARE a responsible gun owner. I don't know how you can keep a loaded gun, unlocked, and with kids around. Thank you.

I think the influx of weapons is slowly going to whittle away the right to bear arms in the US, because people with guns kill. PERIOD. I believe the efforts in some states to issue right to carry for every fetus older than 5 days is going to backfire with the rising death toll. I won't see it in my life time, but I'm sure my grandkids will.

I have a few guns and carry one when I go out and about. I used to wonder how many people around me were also carrying. I don't wonder about it anymore. I just assume that there are more that do than don't.

Keeping a loaded gun accessible quickly but inaccessible to kids is ridiculously easy. It's called a quick-access lock box (as opposed to a storage safe): Takes less than one second to open.
awesafe Gun Safe
It's rather amusing that some people who are concerned about safely keeping guns in the house with children don't think about the other hazards in the home that have injured & killed far more children than guns - matches, furniture polish, bleach, unfenced swimming pools. A gun is just another hazard in the home that requires common sense to keep children away from.

And, NO; I'm not implying guns are not dangerous; I'm saying the same precautions apply to them as other hazards in the home.
