Reddit or other popular social networks with subs focussing on aging? Do you know of any?

Hello. As someone in my 50's I'm very interested in finding, in one of the better known social networks, an area devoted to the general topic of aging. What I'm interested in is a forum that deals with the issue of stereotyping, particularly in order to help our younger generation understand that getting old is more than just retirement and elderly care.

It seems to me that there must be some place online where discussion is held that includes all adults, including those of us that aren't quite there yet. I suppose at one time AARP might have fallen into this category, but their brand seems to be more about building numbers than anything else. Lately I'm finding myself remembering all the stress I lived through dealing with my aging parents and attempting to soften that for my children long before I get there. I also realize now that in the course of their aging, my view of my parents changed at some point, falling into the stereotyping and forgetting that there might still be a real person under that old skin.

Any information would be much appreciated.

Hi,

it has been my observation that online sites tend to focus on, and attract people that are demographically similar, or have similar interests and lifestyles . That being said, some of the computer enthusiast forums that I participate on attract people across a broad age range(like age 14 to age 80). On these forums there is usually a "general discussion" area where alot of 'off topic' subjects are discussed.

Sometimes it's best to go to specific topic site or just research that topic. I can't believe there wouldn't be "grand children forum" or a "social security forum" etc. And yes a lot forums have an other or off main topic section on their boards.
