Reflections of My Life

Just soaked my feet in cold water and will be putting on the compression stockings soon. Makes a difference!

Frustrated with the process of getting a new debit card and putting it in everywhere I need it. For some reason Walmart could not take it. So I removed the old one (same number) and put the new one in. Still would not take it. I had ordered groceries so had to put them on a credit card which I did not want to do. This is an example of why I hate changes. Every time I have to update or change something it is difficult.

I suppose that could be why some people do not want to learn how to be online with a computer or phone. I feel I have to keep learning new things and even if I do it all on a computer it is good for me. I accept the fact that I will most likely never have good mobility but I can live with it. I am not really a physical person anyway.

Even though I used to love race walking and working out with weights. I can walk though even if I have to do with it my walker. Maybe I can't use heavy weights (for me) on a barbell, I can use my dumbbells. I am going to order a 5 lb. set so I can increase the weight on my set. I only have 1# & 3# right now. But that is okay for starting out.

The district manager was here today. Before she left she put a notice on every door. Nobody can have unauthorized people staying in their apartment. One guy on the 3rd floor in a studio apartment had 3 homeless people living with him! If you violate that you can have your lease terminated. I must say, I am happy to see that. We have had a lot of homeless people hanging around here.

Yesterday one of them had 3 grocery carts and he emptied everything out of them on the picnic table. It looked like a hoarder's house! His girlfriend stays here because her sister lives here so he is always here. They both smoke all the time so must be they have a way to get money for that. And of course, their phones. So maybe they could use that money for rent somewhere.

Aside from all that, I have had a nice few days. Ever since my legs and feet have started feeling better. Got a lot of organizing done and trying not to put things off. Do them when they need to be done.

@RadishRose

In Connecticut. Don't know if it is near you or not. But thought of you when I saw this.

Yes it is near me about 15 miles. We have the black bear here too. They've been seen at our condo area trying to get into the trash dumpsters and there's woods behind the condominiums so they roam through there too. They're all over Connecticut .

Thanks for showing me this one.

We live less than a mile out side of our little town.

Last month We had a black bear run towards our house.
Thought for sure he was going run under the back porch!

I yelled for hubby to come see the bear,,, scared it away before he could see it. :p
Noise will usually scare them away.

My cat was killed by one so I don't like bears too much.

They decided to organize their household better I guess.

Then a few hours later............. someone must have called the police

He tied all the carts, wagon and stroller together with a rope. It must he heavy and I can't imagine how he was able to move it. I noticed his girlfriend was not helping him very much. Just puffing on her cigarette. He is gone now and so is everyone else for now.

These homeless people up close, make me thankful I do not have to live like that. There are problems living in this apartment building but they are the kind of problems you get when you live anywhere near other people. Just comes with the territory. I remember when I panicked if my car broke down! Now I don't even have one. I am thankful for that also. Vehicles are a big drain on the bank account.

When I think about it I have many reasons to be thankful. My life has not been that hard. The only hard things was my relationships with men. When I was younger I was attracted to the "bad guys" for some reason. When I married my first husband he was not a bad guy by any means but a business man. Up until then I did not want anything to do with men like that. He won me over by becoming friends with me at the bar I worked at. Bought me presents and took me out to dinners.

Yet he is the only one that had an FBI agent come to my house to question me for over two hours! One other guy I went with that would have been a not surprising outcome but not that husband. Well, that is life. Things are not always what they seem.
