Now adding to that, I have been plugging in the ceramic Christmas tree in the middle part of my vanity in the bedroom. It looks pretty in there with the tree lit up. Today I changed three of the drawers around in one of the dressers. I was keeping my gel pens and some other items that I use often in the 2nd drawer. It is a little too high for me and that drawer is deep so it was hard for me to reach into it with my sore shoulders and arms. Now I am wondering if that could be what was causing them to hurt so bad. Now the gel pens are so easy to get to that I don't have to take all of them out at the same time. Just pick what colors I need.

Sheets and pillowcases are now in that drawer. And the towels which were in the drawer I wanted for the gel pens are now in the drawer where the sheets used to be. Much easier for me. I kept putting off doing this. You know how long it took me? About 15 minutes while I was talking to Sonny on the phone.

So I have three other drawers to organize. Two on the other dresser and one on the dresser I worked on today. Now I am so ready but will wait and see what tomorrow is like.

Snow removal going on this morning. It starts around 3 but I resist waking up till at least 4. I don't take naps during the day so like to wake up on my own usually. I cannot see how the windows until I open the block out curtains but I don't need to see it. I know what snow looks like. I have certainly seen enough of it.

Yesterday my friend who lives down the hall came for a visit. She is my friend who has dementia. Except for not knowing who her husband is she seemed pretty good. She was laughing that I had said before I was not doing any decorating for Christmas and here I was with my door and entrance so festive. I was so surprised she remembered me saying that! She didn't know it was me who put a silver reindeer on her door so I told her. Her face lit up so I am glad I got it for her.

It is true that I said that and now my door is the most decorated. That is because I have been adding the Christmas cards I get to my door. So it is pretty full right now. It probably is technically cluttered but it is only for a couple more weeks and then it is done.

I totally LOVE how you have decorated your door, @katlupe ! Anyone coming past your door will certainly have the Christmas Spirit, even if they didn’t have it before.
I really like the colors that they painted the apartment building, and it goes perfectly with the outside vintage bricks. And it also makes all the bright Christmas decorations stand out even more. The Snowman is awesome !

We do not do much for Christmas decorating now, but we do have one of the fiber optic Christmas trees, and the changing colors are nice to look at, and we never hurry to take it down after Christmas, because we enjoy the lights.

This is my Christmas tree and nobody can see it but Rabbit & me because it is in the bedroom. Nothing fancy. I got it a few years back at a thrift store for four bucks. Sonny rigged up the light that is under it.

I liked the way you decorated it! I tape my Christmas cards on the kitchen cupboards, and it's really nice to see all the colors! Enjoy!
 
Snowball took me Xmas shopping again this afternoon. I found a Sleigh with Christmas flowers on it.
It isn't a one-horse sleigh, it's a no horsing around sleigh like I slide around on in my youth.

Merry almost Xmas everyone. Grandson has Camo jeans and a new Hoodie too! Snowball gets a Fondou cooker for outdoor stuff.
I gets Xmas bags to put them in, I can't wrap for crap. (hint - hint) ... LOL ...

It's funny how long we can put something off, that might take only 15 minutes when we prioritize doing it.

I have to make that walk to the dumpster but not going to take a walk out there. In Chinese medicine, they ask you if you are a person who likes water and drinks it or a person who likes water but does not drink it. The latter one is me. I like it but I forget to drink. Even if it is sitting right next to me! So making an effort by putting a post-it on my computer screen.

That takes care of movement and hydrating myself. I drink electrolytes through out the day. I had to start making my own since I found out the brand I was using, LMNT was using a natural flavor that had maltodextrin in it. More than the amount they had said previously. It was too much for me even though I loved their products. Sad to have to give it up. But I am trying to heal and that affects my goal.

I am making more keto ice cream today. I am limiting to myself to two a week instead of daily. Makes it special not having it daily.

I need more Christmas cards because more people are giving me cards and I only had 18 in that package I bought. I didn't expect so many, especially from the single guys.

I am going to look up how to spell Merry Christmas in Spanish so I can write it on the new guy's card. He speaks very little English and seems to be pretty nice. So think that might be an extra touch to his card.

Tomorrow I am getting my delivery from Keto Chow. I am eager to experiment with adding flavors to some of these. They changed their vanilla flavor one and I used to use that one for making black licorice ice cream. Not as good as it used to be. I think it tastes more like coconut. Does not go good with anise to make the black licorice flavor (which is one of my favorites). So this time I ordered some flavors that are light like eggnog and cookies & cream. I will see. Lately I have been adding pumpkin spice to salted caramel and it is sooooo delicious!

I am going to buy some chicken wings today to make a collagen rich soup. Maybe if Walmart has them I will get some egg white wraps and make them into noodles. I will see. Sometimes something will just catch my eye while shopping and I buy it.

I always display the Christmas cards as part of my decorations. One reason I hate that tradition to go by the wayside.
 
I just finished vacuuming and it wears me out. I did not do the bedroom because Rabbit was in there. After this little break I will go do his cage and then walk out to the dumpster. It is 9 degrees now but the sun is shining and I need some cold fresh air. This passive heat coming in the windows from the sun heats up my apartment so much. I had to shut my heat way down. The best thing I ever bought was those sliders. Moving the furniture to vacuum under them is so easy now.

Sometimes I wonder if those guests lurking on the forum are searching for topics to do YT videos about. Lately a bunch of them with different channel names are coming up in my YT feed. All pertaining to seniors, elderly, getting old, etc. I watched a few of them and they don't seem to be done by a real person. Some of them are almost the same. Anyway, a lot of them have topics that I remember from here. Not that it matters to me but the way they word it is sometimes like, "on a recent forum post this senior lady said this........"

Chocolate keto ice cream today! Glad I have it in the freezer because I am hot now.

@katlupe, I came across the same thing on YT! They were pertaining to seniors, and as you said, the topics were similar to the ones we've had here. I had thought of the same thing. Do they have the right to copy material from here (or elsewhere) without permission? Isn't there a copyright law? I thought that once it was published online, then that person's writing should automatically be protected by copyright. Just saying.

I don't know about the copyright laws concerning posts made on forums or other social media. I just feel if they want to interview us, then interview us, don't use what we write to make their content (which they make money off).

On my blog, I have always searched what other people my age are asking questions about. Then create my blog post answering that but never copying what was written in my resources.
 
There is someone that uses this senior forum posts for his own website. I can't remember his name but a lot of it comes from questions posted here and information we have shared. He did not refer to anyone's name or personal information but if you saw it you would know. It is plagiarism and is insulting not only to Matrix but to all of our members I am all for people having a blog or vlog but I am not okay with taking stealing. You should always ask permission and give credit to where the information came from IMO. You know who you are, stop it!
 
Wow ! That is shocking . I watch youtube videos, but mostly about horses, gardening, or health related; so I had never seen any that were using threads from a forum.
I am thinking about that. Since anyone can lurk and read the forum without being a member, or even a senior, it would be simple for YT video makers to find topics this way.
Even though the forum is private, because it is owned by Matrix, and requires membership, I think that if people can read it publicly they might be able to comment about a forum topic, as long as they are not specifically mentioning any particular forum, or names from the member of the forum. That does not make it right.

Even if they can legitimately do this, it does not seem like a right thing to do. And they could easily talk about the topic without mentioning that they saw it being discussed on a seniors forum.
It is wrong to copy-paste and not give references, and to me, this seems like the same kind of behavior.
 
I also was shocked, but I clicked on the link that this person put on senior forums, check out my site. It was clear to me, what they were doing and was not happy. Again, no names, personal info or avatars were listed but it did reference many post titles and discussions gleamed from Senior Forums. Maybe I should have reported to Matrix but I was not, am not sure what is appropriate and allowed.
